My Promise

ON the one hand, I pledge to, as accurately as possible, present information that will help people brew and enjoy beer. ON the other hand, I will also flagrantly distort facts about things just to entertain myself. Please take it with a grain of salt. Let's learn about and enjoy craft beer with a light heart (and a nice head).

Li'l Bo-pils

Hiya superfriends. Here's what happens when you mix science...

...with FUN!
aididdy ai-ai-Science is insaaane!

The 'before' is my post-boil hydrometer sample, which is chock-full of (god-damned) pellet hop crud. You can see my very sad brew kettle in the back ground. Boys and girls, let this be a lesson to you. DO NOT USE PELLET HOPS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Okay, you got it?

I'm currently in the "whole hops rule/pellet hops R 4 suckaz" school of thought.  That totally exists, by the way. I mean look at that business in the first photo. I spent 10 times longer running off my Bohemian pilsner today than I would have if I'd stuck with my trusty friends the Leaf Hops. ... Hey! Pay attention! I said the first photo!
Bohemians agree: pellets R 4 suckaz
Anyway. Ahem...The 'after' is me looking gleeful after running the sample through a paper coffee filter. The 'after after' is how I hope it will turn out.

Keep you posted. This is my first lager so anything could happen. I see bursting Derndl's on the horizon.
